Okay, most peeps r gonna say some 4- 5 dollar mascara, but this mascara is only 1.79!! it is NYC waterproof mascara, and it is in a metallic blue tube. It has a super thick brush for vloume and length, and it NEVER clumps!!

First of all I hate Mac mascara's or makeup in general, this is for all who love Mac cosmetics. But anyway, i recommend using rimmel lash maxx it gives great volume, the brush looks like a comb so it easily glides on the lashes, and it's a good price.
i use Dior Show Blackout and it works really well.....i got it at Sephora and its made specifically for length and i haven't had any problems with it clumping....hope i helped!

I'm allergic to a lot of drugstore brand mascaras and the only brands I've found don't bother me (and work well with my lashes) are Rimmel and Mary Kay. Out of those two, I'd say that the best for lenghtening and thickening would be Rimmel's Lash Maxxx. (I'm wearing it right now and my lashes look awesome!)
I don't think you can beat Maybelline's Great Lash. It's been around for a long time, and has long been touted for its excellence, even against the pricier ';big names.';

Whenever I put on mascara and eyeshadow it like sinks into my skin, at the end of the day my makeup's gone.

I like Revlon or Maybelline for mascara and I've never had this problem. As for eyeshadow, I suggest using an eyeshadow primer and then put the eyeshadow on top - that way, it will last all day.
I would guess that you probably have oily skin which makes your makeup melt away. try using a primer to keep your eye makeup in place all day. Urban decay primer potion is good.

You should try a clear mascara, like CoverGirl Natural Lash Mascara or Maybelline Clear Great Lash Mascara. They are safe for sensitive eyes and condition your lashes. If that doesn't help, you probably should just skip mascara in general and go see an eye doctor.

I have quite thick lensed glasses so I wear black mascara and eyeliner. I have naturally long lashes so I kinda go easy on the brush





but listen to the others above and definitely use curlers which you should be able to get from any pharmacy and they're quite cheap.





Btw sometime for my eye lashes I put a little vaseline over them and then curl them which protects them and gives the effect of naturally long lashes. If you have sparse or short lashes go with black mascara over the top. And if you dont want the clumpy look - just wipe off the excess mascara of the wand on tissue until you only have alittle left then brush it from the root slowly and kind of drag it upwards while wiggling the brush sideways. It always gives a thickened but natural effect for me

It may also be the type of glasses you have. I wear glasses with an anti-reflective coating, so one can see my eyes very clearly through the lenses. However, if your mom won't buy you new mascara, she probably won't get you new glasses ;-)
Do you have eyeliner? That could attract attention to your eyes and mascara. If you don't have it, try wearing more layers mascara. Or you could apply a layer to your bottom lashes.
I wear glasses often and it helps to use black mascara and curl your lashes. I curl mine before I apply it to make it less dramatic.

I've noticed that too. I don't wear fake lashes or too much makeup, even though I think I would look more attractive if I did. I like to keep things natural, so that the times I'm not wearing makeup (especially when I'm married someday and my husband sees me all natural without the smallest drop of makeup), people won't have to think, ';Wow, where's her makeup?? She looks so different without it!'; I've seen makeup queens slip up and not have time to put on their makeup (and fake lashes) for the day and I have had those exact thoughts!
You're absolutely not, I agree.. and there was recently an upset about that, Penelope Cruz wore falsies while advertising a mascara. L'Oreal said that they never said she wasn't, but people said that the ad was misleading.. it goes to show, they've openly said they use false lashes!

I totally agree with you! Its kinda false advertising if you ask me. Sure they are advertising the mascara, but they apply the fake lashes first and then put the mascara on the fake ones. They should just advertise the lashes or the mascara, or both, that way they don't have to lie.
In the UK, there is now a rule (maybe law) that says if eyelashes, hair, nails, etc etc are being advertised on TV, there needs to be a small print to say for example, 'styled using lash inserts' or 'hair styled using some natural hair extensions'. It only recently started being shown, and I agree with you completely.
oh my god -- they are sooooooo fake -- I've been on the set of lots of commercials and photo shoots and believe me -- not much on those girls is real. I'm not saying that those girls aren't beautiful in real life -- they just don't look anything like you see on the commericials and their eyelashes are -- well for lack of a better word -- normal.

I don't know about vaseline making your eyelashes look longer, I heard that olive oil makes them grow but I doubt it.

Neutrogena Lash Tint nourishes lashes so over time they get thicker and longer, and the immediate look is great too! It's about $7.00 at most drugstores, walmart or target!

Before. I warm the curler with a blow drier and then use it. It makes a much nicer curl, and I hold it down for just about ten seconds.

Try Maybelline Hypercurl Volume express mascara . Like any mascara application ; always wiggle the wand in a zig motion when applying.

M.A.C. Plushlash is the the best mascara I have found! It gives you amazing volume without clumps while leaving your lashes silky to the touch. Not to mention it doesn't flake at all, like most drugstore brands I've used. The curl stays all day and makes my short lashes look gorgeous, elegant and lengthy. Best of all, it is only $11 and is the one thing in my makeup kit I could never live without!

Start with Lancome Cils Booster XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Base ($20) and then use YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils ($26), luxurious mascara for a false lash effect. I've tried it all and this combination truly works.





Clumps occur when you go over the lashes with more than one application. If you use a base, which has a different texture than the actual mascara, first, then go over it with the mascara, you wont have to reapply the mascara. The base acts like a primer, but also adds thickness. Your mascara will then add length and so your lashes will look thick and long, but without lumps or clumps.

Extra volune mascara water proof is the best one from LO'REAL.
What you want to try to look for is a mascara applicator brush that is small. Nothing too big, otherwise you risk making more clumps with it. The brand I use is Lash Stylist by Mayebelline. The applicator is wicked small, but efficient.


It is also a good idea to apply the mascara slowly on your eyelashes--making sure that it goes on smoothly. You can also make two coats of mascara to add a little more ';oomph.'; And if you do mess up, you can use an eyelash comb to get rid of clumps.


And just to add one more thing: if you have a fair complexion with light hair, it may not be a good idea to go for black. Jet brown would be a better alternative. But, if you do have a darker complexion that can pull it off, then go for black.

It doesnt really matter what brand you get but I would reccomend something waterproof and with a small brush on the end. The small brush is what makes it not clumpy because it gets in between all the eyelashes. If you want your eyelashes to be really dark then make sure you get black and do a second coat! Max Factor is amazing! Be careful of the waterproof kind though...it really is waterproof. Also I like Super Thick Lash from covergirl, it's really good for thickness which I like and you can use it for length to, all you have to do is start at the very roots of your lashes and work your way up. An eyelash curler never hurts either! (Remeber 3 pumps, one at the roots, one in the middle and one at the tips.)





If you wanna spend a little money Flirt! Big Flirt Thickening mascara is really really nice, it doesn't clump and adds amazing length and thickness it's perfect for those nights out when you just wanna look sexy. :-P

I know that you're supposed to replace mascara about every 6 months, so that too many germs don't build up. I would guess that it's the same with eyeliner, because you don't want to keep putting germs back around your eyes! If you put the foundation on with the same brush every time, I would throw it out. But if you use disposable make up applicators, you could probably keep it.

it edges kind of towards the dramatic side if you put on multiple coats, but it stays on forever. if you're in school, your eyelashes will look the same when you get home as when you get to school.

You should try Big Fatty Mascara by Urban Decay(ik,it sounds insulting but its fantastic!) you can find it at sephora or ulta.the reason they call it that and the reason for the funky design is because in the 80's they had big hair and lashes.

Lash blast works awesome for me :) it really makes a huge difference and i love it! im going to try these due to great reviews: exact eyelights b/c it's supposed to help enhance eye color [which it does in NATURAL light] it really opens up your eyes they look so pretty separated and long :) and i want to try loreal CLEAN DEFINITION telescopic [silver tube not gold!] people say they don't like loreals mascara but this seems so different it doesn't dry out as fast as others and it really defines and lengthens! :D so there's my two cents-good luck! :)

clean your wand...put it under warm water and use the cleanser you use for your face to clean it. then rinse off with cold.


-do once every week





If that doesn't work, your mascara could be getting dry


-always close it very tightly


-don't push your wand in and out in and out if the tube excessively, this pushes air innto it, speeding up the drying process





I use Great Lash, w/ the curved brush, its very smooth and it's almost like it conditions my eyelashes.

First off make sure that your mascara tube isn't dry and has plenty of flowy mascara in it. Secondly make sure the mascara wand is heavily coated with mascara( but not too much as it might cause clumps.) The next part is how to apply your mascara, there's are too very simplistic methods, #1 is to tilt your head back and just wiggle the mascara wand through all your lashes until everything is coated, #2 is to keep you mascara wand still and gently blink your lashes right into it. If you find that these tips don't work try checking youtube tutorials on mascara application, I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. Also, are you using brown or black mascara because the color of it also can effect the application process along with the ending results. Black mascara is always best to use because it's so versitile. Best of luck.
Put your mascara wand resting just under your bottom eyelashes in the middle of your eye (close your eye) and just wiggle your head (or the wand) and it should cover them all. Then just move it a little to the left and the right and do the same.And then get a wet wipe and remove any bits of mascara that didn't make it onto your eyelashes. xD
Make sure you have a good mascara,


and put it on both side of your lashes.


You can put mascara on the back of your lashes, a lot of people do.


Put it on the back first and then on the front so your eyelashes are still curly.


This should completely cover them.



I apply my mascara from both directions, apply from the back first because it tends to curl the lashes downwards and then apply like you normally would which will curl them back up. Just practice first, it takes a couple tries to get the hang of it!

Hands down the best to use is Covergirl Lash Exact. It coats each and every one of your lashes very nicely in only a couple of swipes. The brush is very unique and the product does do what it says it will. I get no clumps what-so-ever and it's not expensive either.





I also like Bourjois pump-up the volume mascara if I'm going out somewhere special. It coats them rather well and you can choose between waterproof or not.
Long ago I like the Maybelline twister one dialer. The more you dialed on the more mascara was ready to clump on the brush more thoughouly.





2nd also made my Maybelline is had a white body and a gold cap. Made with mink oil. It mostly colored the lashes darker, not much lentth added on. Or just a bit. For us people with long lashes already.





I really like Estee Lauder Brown bottle night lotion! So good, it likes rejuvenates my skin overnight. Puts back moisture, helps heal bad areas. Like pick at a zit. Wish it was fragrance free!

i use loreal double extend, waterproof, hydrofuge. I love this mascara because it is the only one that is truly waterproof and smudge proof.

Here's what I've found makes a mascara good. You either just top off the tube with a top not a brush; or you clean your brush really good once a week. Also don't pump the brush in and out to get the mascara out, put the brush in and twist it back and forth.
victoria's secret black mascara goes for miles and it costs $9. its worth it cuz it makes your lashes look thick and long
i really like cover girl's lash exact mascara because the brush prevents clumping, so you don't have that ';tarantula'; look. also, the formula is nice because it doesn't smear easily but washes off effortlessly with soap and water.

Right now I am using Maybelline Full and Soft....so far I love it...gives my lashes some length and no clumping so it gives me a more natural looking lash.

i am a big fan of este茅 lauder make up products. i think lash illusionist is amazing.
I purchased Yves Saint Laurent Volume Mascara(black) in hope of the false lash look. First off, I'm not going to tell you that ';it is the best mascara out on the market'; or ';it is the worse mascara on the market';. Rather, I will tell you some positive features and benefits of this product and also any negative and you decide if these appeal to you.





If you're looking for volume in your lashes, I would rate this product an 8. Indeed, it will give you some volume. It did mine and my lashes are pretty limpy. I find that other products out there have given my lashes more volume, but those tend to cause clumps. This mascara can be classified as giving your lashes clean volume.





If you're looking for lengthening, I do not recommend this product. I didn't notice any difference in length of my lashes through my application.





If you're looking for a product that won't cause any clumps, this product is something to consider. I didn't notice any spidery lashes, clumps, or any dry mascara particles under my eyes.





One benefit of this product that caught my eye (or eyelashes), was that it held my curl. I find a lot of mascaras make my lashes droop back down after curling my lashes with a Shu Uemura curler. No matter how much curl I have, some mascaras will cause my lashes to fall stick straight again. With YSL Volume mascara, it stays curled so I don't have to curl it again after applying mascara. For this reason, I have rated this product an 8.5. It's hard to find mascaras (even the expensive ones) that'll offer this benefit.





As far as how long the mascara lasts, I cannot make an opinion about that since I bought it only yesterday. It came with directions that suggested to wipe the mascara clean weekly to avoid any drying of the formula.





So, if you find that you want volume and no clumps - get it. If you want something lengthening - don't purchase it. If you think you'll get that false lash look effect, it will give that to some extent. Just don't expect your lashes to look like that model's lashes on it's advertising campaign.
I asked the very same question a couple of weeks ago! It is good although you require a few coats and I'm not sure if its the false lash effect that you get. I wear false lashes when I go out and the effect is nowhere near the same.





I found that it has dried out very quickly already. Only had it 2 weeks and already starting to become empty.





Its worth a try though, you might really like it. Its defo one of the best I've used, along with Benefit's Bad Lash Gal and Dior Show!

It isn't really the mascara that will make your eyes appear bigger...you have to curl them to get that effect. Having said that though, anything from Lancome is usually pretty good.
There is this really good one by Neutrogena called Neutrogena庐 Clean Lash Tint and it works really well!

for my mascara i use rimmel london extra super lash (waterproof). it's great for short, thin lashes. and for eyeliner i use rimmel london soft kohl kajal eye pencil. it goes on easy and stays on long. and each of them are like 2 or 3 bucks.
well, you can try prepping your lids with concealer before you apply eye makeup, that will give your eyeliner something to grab on to. as for your mascara, use lash exact waterproof mascara, it will NEVER come off. I went to the beach with it on and i still had perfect lashes, no smudges after.

I have very deep set eyes, and liner always smears. I have used Styli-style's pencil eyeliner recently and had excellent results. They also have a liquid which stays on until you take it off. I had that problem in the past too. For eyeliner, I recommend Mary Kay's and for mascara try buying waterproof ones. They tend to smudge a lot less than regular ones. Good LUck!

yes getting your lashes tinted is prolly the best thing instead of constantly applying mascara. and you dont even need to worry about washing it off. the tint usually lasts for me about 3 weeks or more.

if you have oily eye area, try to apply an EYE PRIMER prior to any eye make up. it'll help your make up to stay on longer. i used to use maybelline turbo boost and it gave me panda eyes at the end of the day while many of my friends swear that it's 100% smudge proof for them. now i'm using fasio and it's good enough for me.Why r my undereyes dark after i put mascara?
try using a makeup primer before you put on any makeup. it's safe to use even in your eye area. it prevents smears and smudges and holds liquid and color makeup in place. plus it minizmizes the appearane of fine lines, blemishes and pores. (yay!) mac, smashbox, sephora and ulta...they all have the really great ones. but try walmart, it could say foundation primer or makeup primer. or base.

Mmmh maybe your eyelashes just don't like mascara!!! But you're the boss so you're gonna have to find a way to make it stick! Try a primer or invest in a department sore waterproof mascara. You actually have to try hard to get it off! lol

I just bought some clear mascara. I was stuck between choosing the black/brown waterproof that makes lashes look thicker, or the clear plain mascara that doesn't say is water proof.





I figured I would go with the clear since I almost always get mascara on my lids, and if I do get my eyes wet, then you wouldn't be able to see it running. But I thought that maybe it doesn't show up on the eyelashes as much as colored mascara.

I use cover girl mascara, the brown color. It is waterproof, so if your eyes get wet it wont run. I never used the clear mascara before. But if you are caucasian i would suggest a brown mascara, the black is too dark. But if you like the clear then I say stick with it! Essentially it is up to you, they are your eyelashes.
I would say colored mascara thats waterproof because it wouldd give your eyes more definition and your lashes more volume but then again I would say clear because if you were to ever start crying then you most likely wouldn't have black streaks running down your face like you said before and it wouldnt smear across your face if you rubbed your eyes because nobody would be able to tell.
I love mascara. I've tried a bunch of different kinds and I love maybelline brand mascaras. I usually use waterproof so that I don't end up having raccoon eyes by the end of the day. lol. Colossol or Double ended XXL are my faves.
It depens what you want......... thick go with extenions or colored i think from my exprairions water proff make a differents in thinckiness .......... for thinner clear. It also depens on you. Your water ness of the eyes all that.

Yes, old mascara can irritate your eyes. The older your makeup is the more bacteria it will collect. funny as this sounds I use cold milk on a cosmetic pad. It takes it right off and I always have milk in the house. I rinse with cold water after to remove any of the sugars. You only need a little, just enough to moisten the pad.

I have the vibrating mascara that Estee Lauder makes and I actually really like it! The vibration feels really good when I'm putting it on and my lashes always look good- it helps to get the mascara in between the lashes and get a really good coating on them. I also figured out that it works best when you apply it really slowly.

no it doesn't. If one thing, mascara actually makes it better. I use to wear mascara every day, but now I don't even need to because my lashes ';imitated'; the mascara look, basically even without mascara my lashes still look long and thick unlike before (sparse and thin). This is because many mascara's have fibre in it or aloe which are all good for eyelashes

Put a bit on your finger tip and gently rub your lashes between your thumb and forefinger and your mascara will lift straight off - even the waterproof kind. Have you ever seen clear conditioning mascara, if you pick up a tube of that and use pretty much any other brand of mascara it really makes your eyelashes look long. What you do is apply the clear mascara and use your regular mascara over it once its dried. I prefer the newer mascara brushes thats bend and are made out of plastic. What mascara makes eyelashes full & thick?

I have long eyelashes so when i put on some mascara it usually makes it seem even longer which looks horrible to me!


I'm pretty sure out of all the mascaras, theres got to be at least one that helps to make eyelashes fuller/thicker.





The cheaper the better. But if its a bit expensive thats alright.

Try Revlon 3D extreme mascara. It volumizes well, and doesn't add much length. Also, I've found that older, dryer mascaras don't have as much lengthening effect. So you can put more on and your lashes won't be as long :]

I was wondering because she is growing up so fast and I'm not even sure if she should wear make-up, but she wants to so i want to let her!What would you let your child wear, mascara or eye liner?
my mom is exactly this way. and she's really strict and conservative. i would say mascara because that's what my mom did. mascara is hardly noticeable, but yet it enhances the eyes feature and make lashes look longer. however, if eyeliner isn't applied on properly, it will most likely turn out too thick and noticeable.What would you let your child wear, mascara or eye liner?

and 12-13ish should NOT wear eyeliner, since most girls that age don't know how to use it and always end up wearing WAY to much to look like the pop stars like avril or something.





i dont know, that's just what i've noticed.
If she is young i stay stick with mascara for now. Eye liner is when your older and if she is young she would probably put on too much and that can make you look like a slut and trampy.

BeneFit ';gee that was quick'; make up remover, its a bit expensive i know, but i find a couple of drops is all you need on a cotton wool pad, and then one swipe on each eye gets off all your mascara and eyeliner. depends how much you put on, but this product will cut through the make up like a hot knife through butter! Its not got any harmful alcohol in it either i think all their products are plant derived

Some times soap and water do not work on mascara because it is too waterproof. I use petroleum jelly and apply it to the lashes and let it sit on them for about 10 minutes and the mascara softens and wipes right off with a tissue. It is good for the soft skin around the eyes too, it does not irritate or dry skin.
Are these people insane, BABY OIL??? Just use a little soap on a wet q-tip. It lets you get in the area and directly under the eye for any smudges carefully without getting anything in your eyes.
